SSH and logs
The pedalboard runs an SSH server. There is no password login: only keys.
Section titled “Log in”- Put your public key (for instance
~/.ssh/id_ed25519.pub) in a file namedauthorized_keyson the card’s first partition, from any computer. Several keys can go in the file, one per line. - Start the pedalboard. The keys are copied at each boot; deleting the file revokes them.
- Log in as root, at the address shown in Settings → Wi-Fi (Ethernet included):
ssh root@192.168.1.42Logs and version
Section titled “Logs and version”tail -f /var/log/messages # audio server, app, storagecat /etc/pedalboard-release # version of the imagepedalboard-update status # system slots and the last updateLogs are kept in memory: they start again at each boot. The app writes to syslog one line per
event, with what varies as name=value fields, for instance
WARN ... Preset skipped path=/data/pedalboard/presets/old.json error=.... Errors mean a feature
is lost (no audio, a save failed), warnings that something was worked around (a file skipped, a
retry):
grep -E "ERROR|WARN" /var/log/messages # what went wrong since bootpedalboard-report prints everything useful for a bug report in one go: versions and system
slots, the settings in effect, the sound cards and how the audio server opened them, their mixer
controls, the audio messages of the kernel, and the logs of the audio server and the app. It
changes nothing.
pedalboard-report > report.txtYour data lives in /data/pedalboard:

Copy files with scp -O, then give them to the app:
scp -O -r "My Rig" root@192.168.1.42:/data/pedalboard/models/ssh root@192.168.1.42 'chown -R pedalboard:pedalboard /data/pedalboard'Back up
Section titled “Back up”Before writing a new image to the card, which erases it, copy your data off:
ssh root@192.168.1.42 'tar -cf - -C /data pedalboard' > openrig-backup.tarThe backup includes your TONE3000 sign-in: keep it private.
